WQB Mold Removal is a Port Jefferson, NY-based remediation company built around one idea: tell the customer the truth about what's in their walls, then fix it properly the first time.
We staff our Port Jefferson crews with people who've handled crawl-space colonization, attic condensation mold, and post-flood contamination — not just cosmetic bathroom mildew.
We carry full liability coverage on every Port Jefferson job, and our dispatchers can usually get a technician on-site the same day a call comes in.
Ask any Port Jefferson property manager who's dealt with a bad remediation job and they'll tell you the same thing: the difference isn't the chemicals, it's whether the crew actually found and fixed the moisture source instead of just spraying the visible mold and leaving.
We also work directly with a network of Port Jefferson-area contractors when a job needs drywall replacement, plumbing repair, or roofing work after remediation is complete, so you're not left juggling three different companies.
Not every mold problem announces itself with a visible black patch on the ceiling.
That earthy odor in a closet or crawl space is often the first real clue, long before anything is visible. Our technicians can often narrow down the general location just from where the odor is strongest before ever opening a wall.
Any Port Jefferson property with a prior roof leak, burst pipe, or flooding event is at higher risk if the drying wasn't done professionally. We can check behind an old repair with a moisture meter in under an hour to put your mind at ease either way.
Sneezing, coughing, or headaches that improve when you leave the house and return when you're back inside are a classic mold indicator. Air quality testing can confirm or rule out mold as the cause before you spend money chasing the wrong culprit.
Green, black, or gray speckling around windows, vents, or baseboards is often just the visible tip of a larger colony. A quick photo sent to our office can sometimes help us gauge urgency before you even schedule a visit.
From a single bathroom to a flooded crawl space, our Port Jefferson crews scale the response to match the actual problem.
When a burst pipe or roof failure floods a Port Jefferson property overnight, our on-call crew can be dispatched before the sun comes up. We also photograph the damage extensively on arrival, which helps considerably if you end up filing an insurance claim afterward.
Once remediation is complete, we run post-remediation verification testing so you have documentation the job actually worked. We'll also flag any structural repair the job needs and put you in touch with a trusted Port Jefferson tradesperson if it's outside our scope.
Retail spaces, offices, and multi-unit buildings in Port Jefferson, NY often need remediation scheduled around business hours to limit disruption. Multi-tenant properties in Port Jefferson sometimes need coordinated notice to residents or staff, and our project leads handle that communication directly.
Air sampling and surface swabs identify exactly what species is present before we ever propose a treatment plan. A written inspection report is available for real estate transactions, refinancing, or your own peace of mind about a Port Jefferson property.
These tight spaces require specialized equipment and technicians trained to work safely in confined areas. Encapsulation and sump correction can be bundled with the remediation itself so you're not paying for two separate visits.
Sealing, grading corrections, and ventilation upgrades often prevent the exact conditions that caused the original problem. A small investment in prevention is almost always cheaper than paying for the same remediation twice.
We keep the process simple enough to explain over the phone in under two minutes.
Tell our dispatcher what you're seeing and smelling, and we'll get a technician on the calendar, often same-day for Port Jefferson addresses. Photos texted ahead of time can help us prep faster.
This step tells us the true scope of contamination before we write a single number on a quote. You'll get a plain-language explanation of what we found before any decisions get made.
Negative air machines keep spores from traveling to unaffected rooms while the work is underway. Daily progress updates are available if you're not on-site during the work.
A final clearance test confirms spore counts are back to normal before we consider the job finished. We'll also walk the space with you so nothing gets signed off without your input.
We quote a flat rate before any work begins, so there's no surprise invoice waiting for you at the end.
We keep a dedicated crew covering Port Jefferson, NY so response times don't balloon during peak humidity season.
Every job includes documented before-and-after testing, not just a verbal assurance that "it's handled."
And if something doesn't sit right after we leave, our satisfaction guarantee means we come back and make it right at no extra charge.
We also try to be upfront about what we can't fix on day one — if a Port Jefferson home has an underlying roof or plumbing issue causing repeat moisture intrusion, we'll say so plainly instead of quietly re-treating the same spot every year.
Local reputation matters more to a small Port Jefferson-area crew than a national franchise ever has to worry about, and that keeps us honest about scope, pricing, and timelines.
We stand behind every remediation job with a written guarantee, not just a handshake, because your peace of mind matters as much as the finished work.

Answers to what Port Jefferson homeowners ask us most.
Response time depends on scheduling load, but same-day or next-morning arrival is typical for Port Jefferson, NY service areas. If you're dealing with active water intrusion, mention that when you call so we can flag the job as urgent.
Yes — every job gets a flat-rate, itemized quote before any work begins, so there's no surprise invoice at the end. We're happy to walk through the line items with you over the phone before you commit to anything.
Emergency dispatch is available 24/7 for situations where waiting even a day could worsen the damage. We also coordinate directly with plumbers or roofers when the source of the water needs to be stopped before drying can even begin.
We collect air or surface samples and send them to an independent lab for species identification and spore-count analysis. Knowing the species matters because some, like Stachybotrys, call for stricter containment protocols than common surface mildew.
Coverage depends on your policy and the cause of the moisture, so we recommend calling your insurer, and we can supply documentation to support a claim. Our detailed photo documentation and written scope of work are formatted to make the claims process as painless as possible.
Timeline depends on the square footage affected and whether structural materials need to be removed and replaced. Drying time after water extraction can add a day or two before remediation itself even starts, depending on how saturated the materials were.
Anyone with asthma or mold sensitivities may want to arrange alternate accommodations during larger jobs, and we'll advise based on scope. Pets are usually fine staying in an unaffected part of the Port Jefferson home, but we'll flag any exceptions during the walkthrough.
We recommend keeping children and pets away from the containment zone until the area passes clearance testing. Once we complete post-remediation testing and the numbers come back clean, the space is safe to use normally again.
Post-remediation testing confirms spore counts returned to normal, and our guarantee covers regrowth tied to our workmanship. If the same conditions caused a prior remediation to fail, we'll flag that risk clearly before starting the new job.
Our dispatcher can walk you through what an initial visit includes when you call to schedule. Even a phone consultation before scheduling can help you understand whether what you're seeing warrants a visit.
Remediation focuses on removing the active colony and correcting the moisture source so the environment no longer supports abnormal growth. Any company promising 100% mold removal is stretching the truth, since outdoor and indoor air both naturally carry some spore count.
Surface cleaning with bleach may remove visible staining but rarely reaches spores embedded in porous materials like drywall or subfloor. For small, non-porous surfaces a simple cleaning may be fine, but anything on drywall, wood, or carpet usually needs a professional look.
